Two employees of the Go Ko outlet at Sutton shopping mall subjected me and my 7-year-old, severely autistic, non-verbal son to relentless bullying and harassment. My son accidentally dropped a tiny nail that landed near one of them. I immediately apologised on his behalf and explained his condition. They refused to accept it, aggressively demanding an apology directly from my terrified 7-year-old. We were sitting just 20 meters away, trying to have our lunch. The man and woman became so aggressive that my two children were left in shock, reduced to tears. We had to call the police for our safety. Even after police intervention and a warning, the woman continued her harassment. I am utterly broken, traumatised, and in disbelief. The cruelty we experienced today will haunt me. My child was targeted for being unable to speak for himself. Service: 1

Your review contains several serious inaccuracies that we feel must be clarified. During the incident you describe, a rusty metal screw was thrown by your child at one of our employees. As anyone would understand, throwing a metal object in a busy public space presents a genuine safety risk and could easily have resulted in injury. We were lucky that it did not hit our staff’s eye. But with no awareness from the parents, the child continued walking around where people ate. This included other families and children. A member of our team had to approach you to raise this concern at which point you responded with a dismissive sorry. You did not explain his condition nor did you make any effort to watch your child with more care. Instead continuing to eat while your child roamed about. We decided to return to our restaurant but kept a closer eye on your child than you did. Shortly afterwards, our staff also noticed your child attempting to access a neighbouring outlet’s storage area, which is a restricted space. Given the earlier incident involving the metal object, this further reinforced our concern that closer supervision was needed for the safety of both your child and those around him. When our staff went to notice you a second time, you finally explained his condition. Understanding his condition, we asked you as his parents to please keep a closer eye on him. Explaining the previous incident again alongside us witnessing him trying to access restricted areas. At no point did our staff “bully” your child or “demand an apology” from him directly. When our team was informed that he has additional needs, we spoke to the adults responsible for supervising him. The conversation unfortunately escalated when our staff were met with hostility when asking for this basic level of supervision. Your children did not cry because of us, but because you started aggressively shouting at us to go away. What began as a simple safety concern was then escalated further when you threatened to call the police. We want to be absolutely clear: our staff did not harass, bully, or target your child. They raised a legitimate safety concern after an employee had an object thrown in their direction and after noticing attempts to access restricted areas. We understand that parenting a child with additional needs can present challenges, and we always aim to treat families with respect and understanding. However, ensuring the safety of staff and the public is also a responsibility we take seriously, and raising concerns about thrown objects or unsupervised access to restricted areas is entirely reasonable. We stand by our staff, who handled a difficult situation with professionalism and with the intention of preventing anyone from being harmed.

I recently visited GoKo Korean Fried Chicken and opted for the spicy Korean fried chicken with salad and rice. The chicken was incredibly crispy yet tender, and while the spice level (famous) was enjoyable, I’ll definitely try the extra spicy (devil) next time. The soft rice complemented the flavors perfectly. I also indulged in a mozzarella and sausage corn dog with sauces. The crispiness was just right, and the mozzarella was exceptionally delicious! Although the prices are on the higher side, the food was worth it. A lunchtime meal deal would be a fantastic addition to their menu! The service of the person serving me was great. She was very polite and was helpful with my understanding of the menu. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
