Seven of us workmates decided to meet up here before going for our Christmas meal. The bar staff were fantastic, the choice of drinks amazing and the atmosphere was so good we ended up cancelling our meal and staying here for the whole evening. They were so accommodating and friendly and even managed to take our food order despite being very busy. The very definition of an English pub! We are all planning to go back soon. Price per person: £50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is one of my favourite pubs. Great atmosphere and lovely welcoming hosts. There is an interesting mix of spaces and a nice courtyard beer garden. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Pint of Great Beer

Excellent pub about thirty minutes walk from Bournemouth Railway Station. Seven cask beers - and two ciders - on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating in the courtyard to the rear most of it covered. The Goat and Tricycle was originally two adjoining pubs, the left of which dates to around 1900 and shows generously detailed signs of Art Nouveau plus Arts and Crafts tradition. The Art Nouveau dark green and light green tiles on the frontage are fantastic. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Pint of Great Beer
