Amazing food and a cool atmosphere brought down by the service. Our waiter would walk away very quickly during every interaction. I asked about sides, how big are they, he answered and walked away before we could even order anything. My wife ordered a drink and he walked away before I could put in my order. We ordered oysters but the waiter was in such a rush he never put the order in. If the service was better this could be one of the best restaurants in KC, but unfortunately I don’t think I would ever go back on a Saturday night if they are too busy to take care of customers properly. The reason I still give them a 4 star is because of how great my Manhattan steak was along with everything else we ate. Myself and my date both enjoyed dinner at the bar last night. Skyler was a wonderful bartender and the service was great. He recommended a delicious wine and the sausage stuffed mushrooms, which were scrumptious. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and food was prompt. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Came here for Valentine's Day dinner. I was so excited because we frequented the Golden Ox as a family when my father was living and I had no idea it was still open. Pleasant greeting upon arrival, nice vodka and grapefruit juice from the polite male bar tender while we waited for our table, super sweet waitress was very apologetic for the slow kitchen, which was fine. My porkchops were delicious, my twice baked potato was small and under dressed but still edible, husband's baked potato, steak, and Caesar salad were all good as well! Too much food to eat so we boxed one of my porkchops, baked potato, and half of a steak. This is where things went bad! I set the food back down on the table to put my coat on so we left the restaurant without our food got into the car and three bucks down the street before I realized that it was not in the car. We made the loop on the one-way Street which could have possibly taken 8 minutes and went back to the restaurant to find that our food had been thrown out. It's fine if you don't have the level of customer service that would have either replaced the food, given a gift certificate, or a free dessert; however, what is not okay is to lie and say the food was thrown away because we were gone for 25 minutes! Horrible end to a good night but it is evidenced by the responses to other comments that customer service is not priority! Price per person: $50–100 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
