The food at Good Eats NJ is genuinely good — no complaints there. Unfortunately, the experience around it left a lot to be desired. Service was extremely slow, and when my wife’s food finally came out, the server actually had to ask me what I had ordered — not a great sign. My food arrived a few minutes after hers, which is a small thing, but it adds up. Looking around the dining room, it was clear we weren’t alone — nearly every table was waiting an unusually long time for both food and drinks, and even some of the takeout customers looked frustrated. After reading through past reviews, it seems the slower service coincides with a change in ownership. The bones of a great neighborhood spot are clearly here — the food quality proves that. Hopefully the new owner recognizes that the kitchen and the front of house need to work in sync. A real investment in staff training, organization, and streamlined processes would go a long way. I’d come back, because the food is worth it — but I’d love to see the overall experience catch up to it. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20

We had breakfast today. Everything was delicious. Homefried potatos were the best I ever had. Friendly staff. Great service. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast
