The Greek Taverna, a restaurant started by Greek immigrants, will close in McLean after 28 years. The last day of business will be Valentine's Day, Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021

Greek Taverna is as wonderful as ever. Feta saganaki, arni stamnas and bougatsa for dessert are my absolute favorites, but everything on the menu has wonderful flavor, clearly all made with love and attention to detail, down to the side dishes that accompany entrees. I have never loved green beans so much! We love you, Greek Taverna!

Empty, sadly. Very clean. Family run joint is the best for Greeks. Like a trattoria, the owner will come and chat with you about the specials that day. Menus of course are avaliable but who wants to order off a menu? I want to be told what to eat by the person who put the TLC into what's on my plate, headed for my belly.Special care, great service, amazing slow roasted lamb that melted as your fork sides into it.We were the only table in the large joint but it felt like a warm socially distanced party as servers, cook, and owner were happy to join in singing and laughing as we dined.
