The ingredients were fresh and of good quality, but unfortunately the overall dining experience did not live up to my expectations. The flavors were fairly ordinary and, in some cases, even below what I would expect from a restaurant of this level. For example, the fish was overwhelmed by the taste of olives, making it difficult to appreciate the fish itself. The steak was well cooked and flavorful, but the main reason I visited was to try another dish that had unfortunately been removed from the menu. The chicken was nicely fried, but lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the clams—they were fresh and well prepared with a delicious taste. I would also not recommend this restaurant for families with young children, as they do not offer a kids’ menu. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but personally, I wouldn’t recommend it. Most of the food was very salty. Our waiter never asked how was the food. We were surprised how small the steak was, the tomatoes were bigger than the meat and not tender at all. We have to ask to chill our wine all the time. We paid 10,000 kr for 4 person. Not impressed. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

A mixed experience at Grotto, the food was absolutely imcteand to start it was brilliant, we got the hors d’oeuvres quickly and the drinks soon after. We ordered three starters, two arrived relatively quickly but we had to wait 45 minutes for the third from the second arriving, after asking twice, which was a shame. The one main we ordered arrived 1hr 45 mins after we arrived. Overall the staff are lovely and the food was genuinely excellent, not all tables experienced what we did from what we saw but the waiting time was a shame. We would still return! Price per person: kr 900–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5
