Gulick Delicatessen is a local establishment in Kalihi, Honolulu that serves up Asian and Hawaiian fusion cuisine. The ambiance is casual and bustling, with limited parking available on the side of the place. The interior design is clean, bright, and airy, with a display case showcasing an array of mouth-watering dishes.
The price range is a bit on the high side, but the portions are generous, making it worth the cost. Customers can expect to spend around $50 for two plates and a side. The location is convenient for those in the Kalihi area, with street parking also available.
One of the special features of this eatery is the option to create your own plate lunch by pointing at what looks best. Some of the standout dishes include the pork eggplant, chow fun, garlic chicken, and cone sushi. They also offer soft drinks and iced tea to wash down the delicious food.
Overall, Gulick Delicatessen is a fine dining spot that delivers on flavor and portion size. It's a great place to grab a quick bite or to cater for a special event. With its mix of Japanese and local-style cuisine, it's no surprise that this place has been a favorite among locals for over 10 years.
If you want some okazu-ya type food, Gulick is a great place to get some of that. My favorite is the konbu, but my last visit they didn't have. Shucks. So I got gobo, namasu, chow fun, tuna musubi, fried chicken, hash, and a shoyu hotdog. The portion sizes are pretty good and so I had it for lunch and dinner. All of their food is tasty and it's like comfort food. So good.
One of my go-to okazuyas. Also one of the few okazuyas that still offer gobo. Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
