If you enjoy autumn evenings having a wonderful dinner in a brilliantly run historic pub go to the Gun Inn. Book a table. You'll be glad you did. The cooking was superb. The atmosphere cosy. Really enjoyed it. Thank you. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £20–30 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian options: I had courgette as the centre of my main course. Absolutely brilliant.

Visited here with family, pub itself was lovely and staff friendly but very disappointed in the food. I had a chicken dish which I found to be quite oily and at £14.50 I certainly would have expected fresh vegetables with it but no, we asked the waitress if we could have some vegetables but we’re advised that only what was on the menu was available, there was a very disappointing choice but ordered the char grilled courgettes with a topping of halloumi again very disappointed small courgette very oily and very expensive at £7. Even the other members of the family were disappointed. The ingredients were clearly of good quality but quite frankly for the cost of each dishes we all felt the charge was excessive for what we got, if vegetables were included it would have been better value. The Gun has always in the past produced good quality and interesting dishes at sensible prices now it’s seems to be charging high prices for dishes aren’t worth that much. Sadly I doubt we will be back.
