I want to start by stating I hate being honest to such a great man/owner. The young man who was our server was wonderful. The food has gone down hill horribly & prices up insanely since he was located on Jefferson St ( I suspect the rent is $$$$ at this location). Small amount of food, that has no taste, at rip off prices: $8.95 for 2 tacos, rice, beans- $9.50 for 2 enchiladas rice, beans- $3.95 for chips/salsa (our server was nice enough to give for free since he over heard us say we wanted but couldn't afford) -$1.50 for iced tea & Mountain Dew 12oz can (break down is $0.30/can retail price on pop any other locally owned place in town it's only $0.75 considerably greedy mark up on both).The iced tea tasted like it had been sitting around for a week and no amount of sugar would sweeten it. Both of our orders were the wrong protein (which was nicely corrected), bland and left a horrible aftertaste. Owner is a nice man but the only thing authentic in the place (I have had authentic on my travels & a friends mother to do a fair comparison). I am a BIG supporter of local small business and sadly this one is permanently off my list. We (like most people) live on a very limited budget so going out for a meal is occasional and a treat. After tip we wasted $30 on a meal I could of made at home for $10 that would of tasted good and feeds 4 people. I really felt bad and struggled writting this review. #1 reason I go to a resturant is for the food- not just someone's personality. If you really want authentic Mexican food I suggest Rey Azteca (a chain resturant at that)- every time the food tastes wonderful, fast friendly service, combination platters are actually platters with 3-7 items on them plus rice and beans with free refills for the same amount of money. Since owners control their own FB pages it is of no surprise to see only see the reviews with 3-5 stars but know lower ones have had to of been given after my experience tonight. Or people felt bad giving an honest take on their experience because the owner is a wonderful person. Either way constructive criticism needs to be taken into consideration because return business is what pays the bills not empty tables (what I always witness no matter what day or time it is I go by this location since I live closely and travel this way regularly). I wish you nothing but the best, wish you luck and hope you read and think about all opinions given... Not just the ones that reflect in a positive manner in your favor.
