So friendly and welcoming! Cooked fresh! Great food!! Fried chicken crisp and very tender and moist! Green beans flavored well! Mashed potatoes w/gravy great! Peach cobbler delicious! We will definitely be back!! Can’t wait to try some of the other items!!!

As we drove from Florida to Connecticut for my grandma's 98th birthday, we stopped off at this GEM of a restaurant for some dinner off I-95! The Chicken Breast sandwich was hands down the BEST!! The chicken was juicy, and the skin was CRISPY!! My husband got the spicy 6 piece hot wings, and the 2 dark pieces, and loved every bite!! Thank you Gwen and Franny for that amazingly DELICIOUS dinner on such a LONG DRIVE!!! Ohhh and PS, collard greens!!!!! So good!!!!

Really awesome fried chicken along I-95 Our family recently took a road trip down south and felt peckish as we were approaching Hardeeville. An online search led us to Gwen & Franny's Fried Chicken - and we were grateful it did. There were a couple of other choices on the menu - meatloaf, pulled pork, wings - but we went for four fried chickens and a mess of sides. The fried chicken was really, really good as were the greens, rice, beans, and corn bread. The mac 'n' cheese and hush puppies were only so-so. The decor is nothing to write home about and it is a friendly counter service kind of place. But I would note that even though we got there shortly after they opened (and so had no problem getting a table) our food did take a while as there were a bunch of phoned in orders ahead of us in the queue. By noon the place was packed with both diners and people waiting for takeout so if you can you should order ahead of time.
