If you want an authentic taste of Kyoto, Arashiyama Gyatei is the spot. I had the Wagyu & Yuba Sukiyaki Donburi (¥2,480) and it was incredible, tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef with a perfect savory-sweet glaze. We also loved the hand-rolled sushi; the fillings were super fresh and the nori was crisp. The presentation is beautiful, and I loved how they clearly label options for pescetarians on the menu. Great food, peaceful vibes, and right in the heart of Arashiyama. Highly recommend for a high-quality lunch that isn't just a "tourist trap."
