Hacienda Leon delivers a fantastic dining atmosphere paired with truly exceptional, lightning-fast service that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. The vibrant ambiance sets the perfect stage for a night out, and their excellent, well-crafted margaritas are definitely a highlight of the experience. While the overall food flavor landed on the average side for me, the stellar hospitality and lively environment still made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. It’s a wonderful spot to grab a drink and soak in the great energy, even if I might explore a few other menu options on my next visit. Usually I have great experiences here service, food, and atmosphere are great, however the last two times I've sat outside our waitress has just been kind of hanging out inside and only checking in every 20 minutes or so. When you're there trying to order another round of drinks or add an appetizer and it takes that long to get your server out there it does take away from the experience. Hacienda Leon was a really nice first visit for us while passing through Bloomington. It definitely has a more upscale Mexican restaurant feel, but still felt relaxed and welcoming. Even though the place was busy, we were seated right away which was impressive considering how many people were there. There was plenty of seating inside along with a really nice outdoor area to enjoy the weather. We also loved the atmosphere around the restaurant. Across the street there was a newly built park area near the roundabout with families relaxing in the grass and kids playing in the water. It just added to the whole experience and made the area feel really lively and enjoyable. I just absolutely love the fact that the families are out there enjoying this beautiful grassy area, it was so nice to see so many families there! Service was quick and attentive. We were brought chips and salsa right away and also ordered a side of queso. Our meals came out in about 7 minutes and everything was hot and fresh. My chicken tasted fresh off the grill and the food overall had really good flavor. The only small downside was that the overhead exhaust fans made the food cool off a little quicker than expected, but at the same time the fresh air was actually pretty nice. I always have to stop in the restroom to take a look around and this one in particular had a smart mirror which I thought was pretty cool. You can control the level of the lighting and even turn it off and on! Overall, we had a great experience and we’ll definitely stop back in the next time we’re in the area.
