My friend and I were excited to go see the changes at Hackney's on Harms Way. We were totally disappointed in the food. I ordered a small Hackney cheese burger, comes with fries and coleslaw. Also ordered small onion loaf. I asked for medium well done burger and when I bit into it it was red, fries were cold, slaws tasteless. My Arnold Palmer was horrible, tasted watery. My friend had the Grown up Grilled Cheese. She said she couldn't taste the cheese as there was very little cheese between these two thick slices of sour dough bread. We both agreed the onion loaf needed to. E cooked a little longer and she said her slaw was tasteless too. The waitress offered to bring me another burger I did not want to wait for another and I told her I would bring my raw burger home to my dog and then said we can't take it off the bill because you are taking it out. I said I didn't want to waste it and I would take it home. Then she told us we could have desert on the house. We ordered the key lime pie, we both took a bite and it was so bitter we could hardly stand it. Real pucker power. She took the filling out and ate the crust and whipped cream, I could only do 2 bites. Needless to say we were both very disappointed. The service was good and atmosphere was much better than in the past. Great improvement on the decor and lighting.
