I first heard about ABA burger from the nice young woman at the mall gyro shop. I was asking her if the burgers at the mall were any good. She said Hamburger ABA was the place to go for burgers in Pristina. Two months later I finally got here. She was right. The burger is not the glorious, greasy mess of Five Guys, but the lean burger hit the spot. The bun was fresh, and the perfect bread-to-meat ratio was achieved. The atmosphere is a bit of the “no Coke, Pepsi” ideal. No cheese. No fries. Just a burger with sort of a Mayo sauce, onion, tomato, chopped cabbage, I think, and chili. It is assembled by a master of his craft: squirt, squirt, spread, flip, insert, insert, wrap. Only Coke, water, or yogurt. Clean counter or outdoor seating. Friendly and charming fellows running the place with enough English to serve a first timer like me. 1 Euro 50 for the burger. 30 cents for the drink.
