After seeing Shintencho Shopping Street, come here for a meal. You can taste the perfectly cooked yakitori chicken here. The well-trained staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. A really unusual and fun place with lots of retro memorabilia and the staff are very friendly. I particularly liked the yakitori and would recommend Hanbei to everyone. Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Hakuri-Tabai-Hanbey, commonly known as Hanbey, is a chain restaurant decorated in a showa-era vibe. They are known for their cheap eats and a good place to drink. As a Japanese izakaya, they don't open until 5pm. I had a hard time finding it as it is on the 5th floor and the little elevator is hidden on the inside of a building. Service was excellent and some of the food was only so-so. There are better options for that. Menu is in Japanese only.
