HappyHour is a pub and bar nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Gionmachi Kitagawa in Kyoto. This spot offers a cozy atmosphere where patrons can enjoy a range of alcoholic beverages like beer, sake, and plum wine, alongside some food options. Although it is not well-documented on popular restaurant directories, you can find a minimalist profile on Google indicating its presence.

This quaint establishment allows patrons to bring outside food, providing a laid-back dining setting with table service. However, accessibility options are limited, as there are no wheelchair-accessible entrances or parking available. Visitors should also note that HappyHour operates on a cash-only basis. As far as facilities go, there's a toilet for guests.

HappyHour welcomes guests every evening from 9:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and while the venue lacks recent updates or interactions from the owner, past visitors have shared memorable experiences. They often highlight the friendly demeanor of the bartender, who also owns the place and runs it mainly for enjoyment rather than business. While language barriers might occasionally occur, friendly conversations often ensue, creating a community-like atmosphere, especially with the aid of translation apps.

My girlfriend and I went here on a recent visit to Kyoto, and honestly, it was a highlight of our trip! We just walked by and saw a man tending a bar with no one else there so we decided to pop in, and we were met with an excellent bartender. The sign is as it states. 1000 yen gets you all you can drink for 1 hour. From Suntory draft to Sake and Plum Wine. It was wonderful to just sit and take a load off after a long day. But the highlight for us was the bartender/owner who runs the bar mainly as a hobby. He was one of the most friendly people we met on our trip and we stayed for much longer than we originally thought to just stay and chat (and have a few more drinks of course). Sometimes there was a language barrier, but that wasn’t something a translate app like Google Translate couldn’t fix. We came for the drinks, but stayed for the company! Tell him Mr. Beer sent you. Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
