Thank you, Chef Saijo, for the best dining experience we had in Japan! We absolutely loved the food, but even more than that, we were touched by the attention, warmth, and genuine hospitality that made the evening so special. Every dish was beautifully prepared and presented, showcasing incredible skill and care, but it was your friendly and personal service that truly set this experience apart. You made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and your passion for your craft was evident in every detail. This was not just a meal, it was a memorable experience that we will be talking about long after our trip. Thank you for creating such a wonderful evening. We hope to return someday, and we will enthusiastically recommend your restaurant to anyone visiting Japan.

This meal was perfect. Not good. Not great. Not amazing. It was perfect- a single chef giving my family more food than we could eat. I have never had better mackerel, or better sake, or better fried fish, or better sushi in any restaurant in Japan or America or Australia or the UK. It was watching a master at work - but even better because you could eat the art. It felt like we had found a lost episode of one of Anthony Bourdain's TV shows. I only wish I'd taken more pictures of the food but we were too busy eating it. Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is a really special spot! Each course was outstanding and well portioned. We had a party of 6 and everyone raved about the food! My sister isn’t crazy about fish but this spot might have changed her lol! We booked a reservation for my mom’s 70th birthday and they made her night. The chef/owner was so friendly and incredibly welcoming to us. We’ll be recommending Harakara to friends visiting the region as a go to spot.
