Came in before dinner hour and we were sat exactly where we wanted in the balcony overlooking the Main Street. Your typical hard rock, kids loved their food and it was nice to relax and enjoy the meal. Usually very busy and reservations are suggested.
We've always gone here and it's always been great. Until this time. Food and drinks were awful. Didn't finish our meals. Drinks: We ordered a mai tai and hurricane. Back in the day these came in pint glasses and were a perfect blend of spirits and mixers. Now they are served in highballs. I didn't see if the bar crew free poured or used guns but the drinks were all juice. As I said, bartender for over a decade. I can tell when I'm paying 12 bucks for a glass of juice. Either train the bar staff in free pour or recalibrate the guns. The long islands we ordered were even worse. There was no way four spirits were in all that mix. We don't drink to get drunk but I do expect a good drink when I pay for it. I felt ripped off last night. Food: The appetizer of steak fajita nachos were luke warm and soggy from the weird white cheese(?) sauce. What happened to nachos having real cheese? My daughter's kid pizza was cold, burnt, and dry. She didn't even eat it. I took a bite and spit it out. My son's Mac and cheese was bitter. He ate a third of it but left the rest. My cowboy cut ribeye was small, not full flavored, and chewy. As a steak lover I will add that smothering it in garlic butter does not disguise the flaws.  I ate a quarter of it and left it. My daughter began feeling ill after eating the mashed potatoes and a couple bites of my son's Mac so we left back to the hotel before I could speak to a manager. I won't say we'll never go back but it won't be a go to until they get back to what made them great in the first place. Great food and drink that compliments the service and rock and roll ambiance.
I visit Hard Rock venues for the nostalgia, and definitely not the food. Despite not raving about the food, I loved the ambiance here. Our friends from New Zealand chose Hard Rock for dinner as it was walking distance from their hotel. Our group of 10 were seated fairly easily in their dining room upstairs. It was still a very packed restaurant. We got there just before a band started performing and it was fun to catch some of their show while we dined. It's not a venue to enjoy a chat or deep conversation that's for sure. The music will overpower any conversing.
