It is a mistake for a hotel the size of the Cumberland to have a sound bar or a sound bar at the entrance of the hotel and occupying the entire lobby, which means that you cannot hear the voice of the reception staff in the hotel. Please move it to a place far away from the lobby. I hope to God that I have conveyed what is on my mind. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and that is enough. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Staying at the hotel so decided to have some dinner tonight at the Sound Cafe before our evening out in London. The service was just about ok; but the food was very poor. 3 very simple main meals all done pretty badly. Chicken fajitas; pretty tasteless chicken and a lack not much else to say. Fish and chips; fish miles overcooked and cold mushy peas. Burger and chips, completely tasteless burger with absolutely no seasoning. We got 25% off food as hotel guests but then a standard 13.5% added for a service charge (a service which was only just ok) we did make comment that this was hard to take given the poor quality of the food, we were told to “look around you” as if we were in some high end restaurant. We did pay the full bill, but I already regret it. Dubbing itself as one of the best American restaurant in London I was surprised to see Brioche buns used for burgers. Also, if this really is one of the best London has to offer it’s a sorry state of affairs. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
