Place is shocking we use the one in Bournmouth and that is truly amazing so on our trip to Brighton though we would stop in the one on the sea front and the service and food was the worst ever inside is tatty and unloved would recommend staying clear of the place. I live in Brighton and have never visited before because we go to a takeaway fish and chips shop usually but we had family down and thought we would give it a go for a sit down meal. It was very quiet, only 2/3 other tables and us. The staff seemed non existent, took over 5mins to even be noticed to be seated. Eventually they took our order. Drinks took a long time, food followed. The food was fine. But then we sat for a good half hour with the plates still there, occasionally a staff member would walk past but it seemed like they spent all there time out the back. Not sure if the floor staff are also the cooks there? I'm not someone who asks for much as I have worked in food and retail but they need more staff or different staff, not sure. Won't visit again. However if your ok with all of the above and your over 60 you can get a good meal deal for £13 I think it was. Fish and chips, a tea or coffee and a dessert. Harry Ramsden's always get some stick from some quarters but I find it has great fish and chips, warm service and it's clean. What more do you need? I had had the hake and chips and J had the cod and chips. There may be better in Brighton but this seafront place is just excellent.
