Late review. We went in January, I just forgot to leave the review. We were expecting a beautiful place and outstanding food but we only found a beautiful place. Kinda expensive as well, but that was expected. After the entrees, my daughter took a salad and we found a dead worm in the salad. Wow. Anyway we got the mains and they were actually good. We ordered a dessert and we took a lemon tarte. After a couple spoons we found a hair inside. You would not expect something like this to happen while eating out, let alone in a fine dining restaurant. We were really disappointed. The waitress apologized and offered to replace the dessert but we didn't have the stomach for anything else. We were charged for everything except the lemon tarte and the salad. I am giving 1 star because I can not give 0 stars. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

This restaurant was recommended to us by St. Leonards Cottages. We can also highly recommend the cottages. The stay there was wonderful. Unfortunately, we were at Harvest for dinner and unfortunately couldn't admire the garden and surroundings. The property seems huge. The parking lot is under trees and is simply lit. You walk a short distance to the restaurant. The bar has a very modern design and has a cool window front. The service was very friendly and in a good mood and kept adding water. The food came quickly. It was also the only restaurant that gave us something “for free”. Fine bread with olive oil, butter and sheep's cheese spread. The starters were very tasty. The 6-year-old son was also very happy with his kids menu. I've had better mushroom risotto. But all in all it's 5 stars. One of the nicest restaurants we have found in New Zealand so far.
