A wonderful local restaurant and an amazing experience from start to finish. It has a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere that feels genuinely authentic and personal. We ordered the tempura mix and it was outstanding. The batter was perfectly light and crisp, not oily at all, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. Each piece was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. If you are looking for a true local spot with excellent food and a relaxed setting, this is well worth a visit. Highly recommended. Felt as if I travelled back in time dining in here. It was a quiet Tuesday evening when most restaurants were closed I was struggling finding places to eat and I stumbled across Hashizen in a local neighbourhood not too far from the centre. The chef and his wife were friendly and though they don’t speak English I had no problem ordering as the menu is pretty straightforward. The tempura set which came with a variety of fried veg and prawns is very reasonably priced given the generous amount and freshness of food.
