The recipe for success of this bar is its tasty hamburgers, patty melt and pork. Come here and have good beer. Hastings Keno Family Restaurant is famous for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Prices at this place deserve attention because they're fair. As guests see it, the atmosphere is pretty here. But this spot has been rated below average by Google.

I've been here many times. The food is average in my opinion. Service, not so much. We took a chance at noon today and after ten minutes in a nearly full restaurant we only noticed two servers and one may have been a bussboy, 0 bar tenders, 1 keno clerk, and not many tables with served food. After 15 minutes of our hour lunch we left for McDonalds drive thru. And under 2 minutes we had our food. Hastings Keno always seems short of wait staff and long on TV sets. NEWS FLASH: BUSINESS CLOSED. FOR SALE!

Our family is in Hastings/GI this weekend for a mini golf trip. We've been staying in a Vrbo and cooking our meals every day. We chose tonight to take a break and go out for our dinner meal. We all enjoy playing keno so we went here for dinner. Kudos to our poor waiter for doing the best he could as he was pulled from the kitchen to wait tables. The hostess who seated us asked for our drink order. As we had already viewed the menu the three guys ordered old fashions....the hostess had no clue what those were or if they had them. Our waiter then came over to get our drink order and he had no idea what an old fashioned was either so he went to ask the bartender. They did have old fashions so all our drinks were ordered. We started with appetizers of mozzarella sticks which were horrible. They tasted like breading with mashed imitation cheese inside. It was not real cheese that stretches when you take a bite of the stick. We then placed our order for food....when our food came the bacon cheeseburger was so well done it was as dry as could be, the chicken fried steak dinner had mashed potatoes and Mac & cheese. The mashed potatoes had chunks of hard uncooked potato in them & were covered in brown gravy when country gravy was ordered and the Mac & cheese tasted like plain noodles. The open faced hot beef sandwich looked & tasted like a bowl of canned dog food with the same mashed potatoes buried under the beef & gravy. The chicken sandwich that was cut in half on the plate was raw in the middle. We did send the chicken sandwich back & when the manager brought it back to the table....instead of making a whole new sandwich the cook threw the piece of chicken back in the fryer and it was now so done it didn't even look like a chicken sandwich. We discussed our meals with the manager who indicated she would let the owners know. What, That's all? Finally the manager came back to our table and said she would compensate us for the hot beef and chicken sandwich but when a burger is ordered well done there are no guarantees. I should mention two people in our party ordered wings and these were pretty good. Moral of this story....I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT, it was absolutely horrible!
