Omg, I stumbled on this place today. I can not WAIT to bring my partner here. The staff were SUPER friendly even though I arrived not long before close (sorry about that). BEST banh mi I have ever had. 10/10 recommend. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Hem 1958s space is beautiful and they have a great varied menu. I ordered a large roast pork takeaway and a strawberry matcha around 12:30. The flavours of the banh mi were great, unfortunately the pork was the let down, I found most bites consisting of either fat, crackling (which was good) or overdone pork which was a tough jerky consistency Maybe because it was a weekend the shift was slower meaning it was left in the hotbox for longer than normal? The strawberry matcha tastes nice but leans more on the strawberry milkshake side, which isn’t really my vibe, just good to know for others considering. I’m so sorry the roast pork wasn’t at its best today; we are still figuring out our weekends rhythm, and sometimes the timing isn’t as perfect as we aim for.
