Lured by Hemingway’s "signature" tiramisu, I departed with my epicurean expectations unfulfilled. The saving grace was indisputably the mascarpone, which was ethereally light, voluptuous, and whipped to perfection. True to its name, this sublime cream began to "lift me up." Yet, the experience immediately collapsed. The ladyfingers utterly lacked the bracing, bitter jolt of a true espresso. I was left suspended in mid-air; lofted by the cream, but denied the sharp coffee counterpoint required to anchor the dish. While not abysmal, it was stubbornly average and a complete mismatch for its premium price tag. I have savored vastly superior interpretations for half the euros just across the Adriatic in Italy.
