Booked Sunday lunch for grandsons 18th, large group, mixed ages and a dog. Roasts enjoyed and we especially appreciated the cauliflower cheese. Had a brilliant relaxed time, the staff were attentive to our needs but very relaxed in approach. Made us feel comfortable and ‘at home’. Would recommend to any large celebratory group. What has gone wrong at the Hermit of Redcoats. Saturday night and 75% empty. Only a few months ago it was vibrant and busy. Now it's unwelcoming and cold, the waitress was uninterested with no customer service. The food was bland and of mixed quality. And they didn't even have a wine list! When we asked they only had 4 whites!! This place is on the slippery slope.
