Hidemaru is a restaurant nestled in Naha's Shurisakiyamacho, known for offering a variety of fish and traditional Okinawan dishes. It primarily serves as an izakaya, a type of informal Japanese pub, although diners can enjoy both lunch and dinner selections. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and accommodates groups and solo diners alike, with table service enhancing the dining experience.
Even though Hidemaru offers alcohol, including beer, it's not extensively cataloged on popular restaurant directories besides having a limited presence on Google. Visitor feedback from five years ago praised the generous portions and tasty seafood options, but there has been no recent owner or customer input to update this sentiment. Difficulties assessing the current wheelchair accessibility are also present since there isn't a designated car park mentioned for such needs.
Diners visiting Hidemaru can expect options like small plates, sushi, and sashimi, highlighting the focus on quality fish. Meals come complemented by various side dishes, reflecting Okinawan hospitality. Although reservations are accepted, the lack of recent reviews means it's tough to gauge its standing in the food scene presently. Operating daily from midday to 2 p.m. and reopening for dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Hidemaru might be worth a visit if one finds themselves in the area.
