We had a lovely meal here, on the recommendation of the nice ladies at the visitor center. There’s not a chance that we’d have found it otherwise. We enjoyed the Oshi-meshi “which our proprietress cooks from her heart,” the fixed price meal that they serve every day. It was perfect, and a welcome break on our first hike up Mt. Mitake. The setting wonderfully traditional, but perhaps a little challenging for a couple of old geezers like us to sit on the floor. But we survived to tell the tale, and will remember the unique experience!
