It is the best spot near Northside Park. Order good fried chicken, fried prawns and oc. Delicious draft beer, strawberry daiquiri or liqueur are what may make you come back to this restaurant. Trying the great lemonade is a good choice. Visitors don't highly appreciate flija at Higgins Crab House North.
At this place, you can order food as a takeaway. The staff is said to be hospitable here. A number of people mention that prices are adequate for what you get. From the guests' point of view, the decor looks lovely here. At this spot, guests can enjoy the homey atmosphere. But this restaurant has been rated below average by Google.

Fried chicken is actually incredible. INCREDIBLE. Which is annoying when you're trying to get stuffed on the more expensive ACE items like the blue crabs, shrimp, or snow crabs. Haha. Little expensive. But a tradition and worth it. Go hungry. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Higgins does a great job on their crabs which is why they got the 4 stars. This is their bread and butter/cash cow. This is also based to most of thier competitors who are in the AYCE crab business. How Maryland crabs should be cooked? Tons of seasoning and cooked to the point where it's not dripping with all the crab juice (all that flavor!) They start to off with a round of fried chicken, hush puppies, fries, coleslaw before the crab. Yeah yeah it's a trap, but I enjoy good fried chicken and coleslaw. Fried chicken is well seasoned, hot, and crunchy (most likely pressure fried - cruical for any fried chicken master as myself). Coleslaw is light on the mayo, tangy, and fresh. If you know a thing or two about balance, the oil from the fried chicken is drawn back from the coleslaw (good stuff!). Fries are fries and I prefer my hush puppies with lumps of corn. Crabs come out - these aren't huge as some competitors, but these crabs are full (quality+). I got one mush crabs out of about fifteen or so. If I didn't order AYCE, I'm asking for a new crab. They have my pardon. The secret to cracking crabs? First remove all the legs including knuckles. Second, remove apron and top. Third, the top half of the crab comes off. It is important that you do not break the crab in half. NEVER! Now all the hard work is done. You just scoop all the meat out from the bottom half and top half. These will be small compartmentalized sections. Here's the rest of our order. Doesn't mean it's bad Calamari appetizer - squid was small. Like they looked like tiny bait sized squid. A big no no for me because it's just too much batter than squid. Abit chewy, so needs to be scored with knife before it's fried. They should also provide a quarter of a lemon instead a slice of orange?( Maybe it was just decor?) Soft shell crab platter - these are $$$$ (aka good stuff!) 4 medium soft shell. But I need that roll bread for balance! Can't be just eating crabs by itself .I need to make myself a soft shell crab sandwhich! Burger - ordered medium. You can ask why I ordered a burger at a seafood or you can really ask why is it on the menu. It's a no go with me. Came out tough and too much char. (Meaning probable frozen patty) Fish and chips - chips are chips. Let's talk about the fish. Good but too small. It's a staple food and needs to be one large fish rather than two dinky pieces. But that just my opinion. No pics but here's a picture of me leaving and writing up a report from my overall good experience Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
