It was our first time trying out this place and the reviews were true to their word. My boyfriend and I decided to get takeout. The female who took our order was nice. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait and when we arrived, our food was waiting for us. The lady who took our bill was extremely friendly and well-mannered. The interior of the restaurant was also very cozy and homely. When we opened up our food, I was taken aback by how beautiful the presentation of the sushi was. I had ordered the dynamite and the unagi avocado roll. The rolls were a good size and were filled with a good amount of eel, tempura, cucumbers, and avocado. The rice itself was the perfect texture as well. Additionally, this restaurant is attentive to detail. They had placed a green grass deco so that the wasabi and ginger did not touch (this is great as I don’t like either). My boyfriend and I also ordered the regular chicken karage and the spicy chicken karage. The appetizers come with a side of cabbage as well which is nice balance from the fried food. The chicken was tender and crispy on the outside. Both apps were good, but my boyfriend and I enjoyed the spicy chicken karage better as the sauce was delicious. Overall, this restaurant is one of the best sushi restaurants in Windsor. This will definitely be our new go to place. I am very happy we decided to give it a go and I highly recommend it. I've had sushi in Vancouver, Hawaii, S. Korea, and Japan, so I am generally hesitant to eat seafood in a city not located near an ocean coastline.I'm here in Windsor on a work-trip from Toronto, and I decided to give Hikari Restaurant a chance.I ordered 2 salmon nigiri and a spicy salmon roll to sample. The rice was supple and the fish was fresh and delicious. I'm fairly impressed with the quality, and I'm definitely going to order dinner while I'm here.
