We fell in love with Hikarie by accident. We planned to eat somewhere else but that place was full. Luckily, hikarie gave us a table. So so glad we got to dine here. We ordered the sake sampler which is a separate experience in itself. Try it in the order they advise, youll be blown away by the last one. And the first few sakes pair really well with the skewers. I had the kitsune udon--simple but flavorful broth. There is something unique with the tofu puff and naruto as well that gives a home made vibe. Plus noodles were chewy the whole time. As an udon girlie, 6/5. Hubby had the karaage don which we both liked! The pickled ginger tasted fresh. I just felt like the serving bowl for the dons could be bigger for an easier eating experience This place took us by surprise So far, my launnie fave. Price per person: A$40–60

Their tempura was wonderfully yummyliciois! We had tempura don and tempura moriawase. Prawns were fresh and dipping sauce was just right (not overly tasty). The katsu curry rice and gyozas were fantastic too! Go for their grilled skewers as a side or with your drink (tried all 3 kinds, and we loved the mushroom skewers most! Nicely grilled, tender and juicy. ). We had a lovely evening there - great food and friendly staff! Thank YOU!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
