We were fortunate to celebrate Lunar New Year at Ho Jiak with a special Lion Dance. It was spectacular…but then we had dinner and cocktails and it was absolutely superb. The service was impeccable and we felt very well looked after. We will be back as there’s so much of the menu to try.

This was our second visit to Ho Jiak. The first time we visited on a Friday we really enjoyed the banquet - every course was delicious. We were so excited that we invited friends to come with us and enjoy the banquet but sadly this time the meal did not live up to the standard of our first visit. The duck sauce had a strong alcoholic taste, the fish dish was not great, the rice wasn’t anywhere near as tasty and the pandan puddings were much smaller and not hot enough. The staff were fabulous as they were the first time but the overall experience was disappointing. I’m not sure if this was because it was a Monday and the regular chef was not there?

Absolutely amazing! The food at Ho Jiak was incredibly tasty, full of authentic Malaysian flavour. The team was so accommodating and helped me with all my dietary restrictions without any problem. The service was outstanding — truly high standard. I think they should definitely add my curry-style salmon dish to the menu — it was exceptional!
