Stayed 4 nights. Brilliant staff, particularly on reception. Nice rooms and good food, great service Connor etc. Rooms can be noisy if near the main road and too light at night I the carpark floodlights are on.

Just had an awesome meal that exceeded my expectations! The Crispy Fish Stottie was incredible—great value, perfect temperature, and outstanding quality. My Roast Ham & Cheddar Cheese Toastie was packed with delicious fillings, which made it a real treat too. The atmosphere was comfortable and clean, and the service was spot on—timely and attentive right through to a warm farewell. I can't recommend this place enough for a fantastic dining experience! Visited for drinks over a year ago before a friend's wedding, and went back when we needed to travel to Alnwick. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. We visited during a muggy summer and the room was cool despite no air-con - they did provide a fan, but we barely need to use it. Perks of a stone building. The bed was so comfortable we both slept straight through. The bathroom was cosy, but the shower was nice and powerful. We had dinner, and I'd recommend booking a table when you book your room, as they are always busy - for good reason. Unfortunately some of the menu was unavailable, but the food was incredible, as was the service, and the drinks were really good too. Breakfast was another level entirely, being so closer to the border, you can enjoy the best of English and Scottish breakfasts, proper food to set you up right for the day. If you're ever going through Alnwick, definitely make a stop at The Hog's Head Inn, you won't be disappointed.
