A favourite stopping point of ours on the numerous great walks around this area. We usually sit outside as have the dog/s but there are some dog friendly indoor tables in the bar area (can't be booked I beleive). Always a good selection of real ales, at least 3, and often from local breweries. Can't comment on wine choice but a number of the ever popular gins. The food is always of a high standard and very tasty. It is slightly on the expensive end of pub food but worth it in my opinion. The staff have always been polite & friendly and I think the training must be good as I've never felt the service was anything but top notch. Lovely revamped garden in spring 2022 so many tables & a snug little walled area now with a fire pit/bbq. This is a very popular pub so I would recommend booking a table for any session especially on sunny weekends and during holiday seasons. They also have a beer festival but not sure of dates so maybe sign up to their page if you're interested.
