Ánima is new restaurant in Merida opening January 25, 2023. Executive Chef, Ted Habiger and his team create open fire gastronomy menus that serves vegetarians and meat lovers alike!

We wandered in here, since we did not have reservations for Friday night in the other known restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised. On a return visit with more folks in tow we were even more pleased. My favorite dishes are the seared tuna and beet salad and the green papaya salad. (I am not usually a fan of salads). Everything was good. The servers were very attentive and accommodating. The Di started up near the end of our meal, the first night, and miracle of miracles, did not burst our eardrums. Besides, it was pleasant enough music. We ate inside on the second night, for the air conditioning, and they could and did turn down the music! That is enough for us to return. I am looking forward to more good evenings to explore more of their carefully prepared and interesting recipes.
