It's worth coming to Hooked In Hale because of perfectly cooked fish & chips and tasty cod. This place with takeaway dishes is good for those clients who like to have dinner on the go. The efficient staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Spectacular service is something that visitors highlight in their reviews. Prices here are reported to be adequate. But most guests who use Google didn't give this spot a high rating.

I was really disappointed with my recent visit to Hooked in Hale. I ordered the small cod with chips and mushy peas, and left feeling let down on several fronts.The fish and chips themselves were poor quality – the cod was overcooked and dry, and the portion size was far smaller than expected, even for a “small” option. The chips had that limp, reheated feel rather than being crisp and fresh, and the mushy peas were bland and watery. For the price, it just didn’t add up to a satisfying meal.The service experience was also frustrating. I ended up waiting far too long for my food, watching Deliveroo orders constantly being prepared and rushed out while those of us standing in the shop were left waiting. It really gave the impression that walk-in customers come second to online delivery orders.The staff themselves looked completely run off their feet, which added to the sense of chaos and inefficiency. They were polite enough, but clearly overwhelmed, which in turn meant the overall experience felt disorganised and drawn out.Overall, the combination of small portions, mediocre quality, and slow service makes it hard to justify returning. There are much better fish and chip options locally that manage to balance decent food with proper customer care. 'Award winning,.." - do me a favour as it cannot be for your food!
