The quality of the Boars Head dog was good, as well as the toppings. The problem i had was that it is BIG. It is like those gourmet burger places where it is just too big to get in your mouth and the toppings are going everywhere. Had to eat with a knife and fork. That is a preference thing and I am not dinging them for that. I took the star off because the bun was dry and kind of stale. It didn't seem brioche at all. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I wanted to love Hop Dog more than I actually did. The concept is fun, the menu is creative, and the atmosphere has that casual Beaufort vibe that makes it easy to stop in for a quick bite. The specialty hot dogs definitely look loaded and interesting, but the flavor didn’t quite have the flavor I was expecting. I probably should have ordered a local fave instead of building my own. Everything was decent, just not as memorable as I expected after hearing so much about it. That said, the staff was friendly, service was quick, and it’s still a fun local spot to try at least once if you’re in Beaufort and want something different from the usual burger place.
