The service was fair , to be honest. The meal I had ( Lobster Mac and cheese) was way too bland despite the request to make it spicy. Sure, it was a new menu item, but it was still tasteless. I've been here now plenty of times to give an honest review of Hopcat Holland. Lets start with the obvious, food for takeout is never ready when it's said to be and is almost always luke warm or cold (this time was no different), even if you're early. Management seriously needs to take a look at what's going on in the kitchen, it's unacceptable. I will be clear, this happens for orders that sit in the restaraunt as well. I've even had to send them back a couple times because I was so dissatisified, call me crazy but I do expect my food to be fresh when I go to a sit down restaraunt. I've found their entrees to be pretty flavorful, nothing spectaccular or to write home about but all in all you're really getting kind of run of the mill bar food for a middle-ground price. I was very dissatisifed with my most recent order, upon adding my payment information to the website it AUTOMATICALLY applied a 20% tip to my bill. It didn't prompt if I wanted to add a tip, or which amount I wanted to tip, just immediately put 20%. As far as I know the standard for tipping is 15% for a sit down restaraunt, and that's based on the service provided. 20% automatic for a takeout order, get real... This is a sneaky game and is really going to make me think twice about supporting this business any longer. Parking: There's parking for maybe 15-20 cars along the street for a restaraunt that can easily seat 200 people, you will likely not be able to park on the street and instead go around the corner to the public parking garage and then walk to the location.
