Stayed here in January 2026. The hotel is an easy drive out of town, situated on the river with some nice walking paths around the property. Had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was very quiet, nice ambience with the string lights, and the food was good. Unfortunately the price did not seem to match the quality– the bathroom in the room in particular was in real need of maintenance and a proper clean, a little TLC would go a long way in improving things. The wood sauna which features heavily in photos is actually a paid experience, the included sauna in the hotel was unfortunately pretty run-down, and closed most of the day. Customer service was lacking in warmth for the most part, and breakfast was disappointing. None of these things are entirely reproachable, but the price should better reflect this level of quality, particularly in the off-season. Service: 3

We had an amazing stay at Metsähirvas! The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made the experience even more special. The restaurant was absolutely excellent — truly one of the highlights of our trip. A special thank you to Miko for convincing me to try the barrel sauna and ice dipping — such an unforgettable experience! The apartment was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly equipped. Overall, a fantastic stay. Thank you to the whole team — we will definitely remember this experience!

Absolutely amazing experience ! Solo travelled to Rovaniemi for the first time and found the staff to be incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel itself was extremely comfortable and everything I expected and more (Moomin juice boxes included). 10/10 loved it! Will definitely be back !
