We booked two rooms with full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner with drinks included during the meals) for a week (from very late July to early August) which included access to the partnered beach resort (Bagno 137, Dolores) with two sun loungers and a shared parasol for the two of us, my mother and I. It was our first time in Rimini for a prolonged period of time, the 'city' rather town let us down quite a lot, there isn't really that sort of buzz that you'd expect with all the marketing there is around it (the tourism board is definitely good at their job), most of the shops around the area were all empty or Bangladeshi-owned. The weather was not the best, obviously that is not down to the hotel management. But I must say, the staff was not really the best, especially the couple of mother and son, the owners of the hotel, let's say, they did not really made you feel welcome. There was one episode, where the elderly mother of the owner, in full afternoon, almost denied access to my longtime friend from Germany, saying that it was down to safety, once I referred that to her son in the evening, he basically agreed with her, I was completely astounded. Also, the staff at the hotel restaurant are not Italians both at the front of the house and at the back of the house, and did not really listen to what you were saying to them, when you made requests to them for specific dietary preferences. The food in fact was not really worthy of praise, average canteen style Italian food. Also, after 10 pm, there was a night guard, an elderly man from Southern Italy, who fell at sleep during his shift and you had to wake him up every time, you wanted to go out, of course you could not have any friends over in your room for a few hours during the night. If I had known that, I would have never booked the holiday. The hotel is not really well equipped for disabled tourists like us, in fact there had been problems with the parking and the rooms especially on the first day. Also, the beach resort was further away, than expected, almost 700 m from the actual sea, and so being disabled, it did not really allow us to enjoy fully those very few days in the week wheb the sun was out and the weather was decent. Basically, I would recommend this hotel only to families with children on a budget and able-bodied retirees. Next summer, hopefully we will go to a more accessible resort, likely not in Italy. Unfortunately, my expectations of my reminiscences of my childhood, where I used to spend summers at Lido di Spina or Cervia, are not realistic of today's Italy anymore. Service: 1
