We took the luxury suite at 400€...We were expecting something fabulous except that on arrival, the bottle of cava was drowned in a bucket of leaking thawed ice cubes and leaving the table soaked. The gift is in reality a biscuit from the region...A coffee machine that works provided that the wall lights on the TV side are on, you had to know that...Very dark, very weak lights...Large lack of maintenance, dirty walls, a green terrace with cornices clogged with stagnant water. As for wellness, it's upstairs. Not a jacuzzi but a whirlpool bath with defective taps... Leaking pipe. The damaged sauna... Not of relaxation seats despite the size of the room which lends itself to it. Very poor wifi signal, very noisy in the evening.. Strong point for the very good quality bedding and linen. We still enjoyed the stay because we are not picky eaters but it must be said, it is not worth it at all price... Rooms: 2 Service: 3 Location: 5

We have just returned from a 3-day stay at Hotel Van Eyck in Maaseik, which initially seemed very nice was very disappointing. We had booked the superior room, quite large, but the bed was very disappointing, very low and you almost sat on the floor, and also very sagging, after a night's sleep you have back pain! Television only has Netherlands 1, 2 and 3 to watch and is quite small in size for such a large room. The shower is quite large, it's just a pity that the toilet is not located separately. And if you take a shower, you have to let the shower run for at least 10 minutes before you have hot water, a quick shower or freshening up was not an option. The lighting is also poor, half of it does not work and the rooms are very dark. We looked out over the market, which is very beautiful and cozy, but you can't see anything because there are large trees in front of it. In the evening it is noisy and busy, because there are many terraces around it and you hear everything. There is also a wooden floor, so everything creaks and squeaks, and you can hear your upstairs neighbors a lot. The last night there was a couple with a child who was awake at half past six and kept running and banging and walking back and forth, that's really not a holiday! You hear everything, loud and clear. The windows also no longer closed properly, so very draughty, all quite old. They had also hung double curtains in front of it. The breakfast was plentiful and very diverse. But the food there is quite expensive... Parking is a drama and also quite pricey, which is added afterwards. All in all, not highly recommended. The website and photos make it look better than it actually is! The staff tries to make something of it and is very friendly. But we won't be coming back here again.
