Tried the brunch. Seriously overrated. Don't get all the positive feedback. The barbacoa isn't even made of real cow cheeks, it's chuck roast stewed for a long time - exactly what Chipotle's so called Barbacoa is as well. Owner being from Mexico knows better than to call it barbacoa. When asked about it, there was no response. And that's just the start, wont get started on more

We had a wonderful dinner. We had two veg appetizers - the grilled brussels sprouts and grilled cauliflower. They were both excellent - makes you realize that vegetables in skilled hands can pack a lot of flavor. For the mains we had the octopus and lechon. The lechon was rich and unctuous with crispy bits of skin. The corn tortillas were superb and the habanero sauce packed flavor and some good heat. My wife loved the charred octopus - was cooked perfectly. For dessert my wife had the churros with hot chocolate and a scoop of chocolate ice cream. Hugo's roasts and grinds its own chocolate and you can taste that care in the hot chocolate and the ice cream. The churros were light and crunchy and almost neutral in flavor which was a perfect foil for the sweetness of the hot chocolate and ice cream. I had the flan and it was the creamiest flan I have had. Also recommend the Hugo Rita - simple and perfect. The reason I took a star off for service is that our waiter was a bit overwhelmed by the number of tables and feel one extra person would have made the service seem less harried.
