After staying in Rome for over a month and trying tons of restaurants, we’ve decided that Hummustown was our absolute favorite. The food is incredible, and it is a perfect blend of both nostalgia and modernity. Our servers have been very friendly and kind, even though our Italian was horrible. They were friendly, made conversation, and were incredibly helpful. This restaurant was so good we had to make the 30 minute bus ride back for our last day in Rome. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting, whether you’re new to middle eastern food or looking for flavors from home. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options! Dietary restrictions: All allergens are clearly labeled and easy to navigate, we were able to find food that was both vegan and nut free!

Very disappointing experience. The prices are unreasonably high for what you get. Portions are very small, the food lacked flavor, and the meat was not properly cooked. On top of that, the service was extremely slow. I expected authentic Syrian food with rich taste and good hospitality, but unfortunately this place did not deliver at all. Definitely not worth the price. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

This surely comes as a surprise… especially if one reads the appreciative reviews before you. For sure pleasing everyone is impossible but to read such negativity is really unfair. Hopefully readers will be open minded enough to try for themselves based on other truthful comments.

We were looking for Middle Eastern food in Rome and decided to try this restaurant based on its Google ratings, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed distant and unwelcoming. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable, and honestly, it made us consider leaving before ordering. However, since we had a reservation, we decided to stay and give it a chance. The food was the biggest letdown. The bread did not seem fresh, and the kebab was raw in the middle. We were unable to finish our meals. To make matters worse, the portions were small considering the prices. As people familiar with authentic Syrian and Lebanese cuisine, we found the food far from what we expected. The overall experience simply did not match the ratings we saw online. I am writing this review to help others avoid the disappointment we experienced. Of course, everyone can make their own judgment, but I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming place with authentic Syrian or Lebanese food. Your has only one aim- to hurt a business run by refugees who try their very best each and everyday whether in the kitchen or as waiters. It is always sad when it is an Arab who has always the worst words… hopefully people will go beyond your mean and untrue review.
