Nestled in the heart of Ravensburg, Gaststätte Humpis is a charming establishment that serves up traditional Swabian cuisine. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with a mixed audience of locals and tourists alike. The interior design is rustic, with old brick walls and wooden beams overhead, adding to the restaurant's historic charm. Prices are reasonable, offering a good price-quality ratio. The location is convenient for exploring the city center, and there is outdoor seating available for those who prefer to dine al fresco.
The menu features a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as meat dishes such as the Sander filet fish, which is cooked to perfection, and the Zwiebelrostbraten, a classic Swabian dish made with onion-marinated beef. The restaurant also offers its own house beer, which pairs perfectly with any meal. For those who prefer wine, the Pinot Grigio is an excellent choice.
While the service can be hit or miss, the food more than makes up for any shortcomings. Overall, Gaststätte Humpis is a fine dining spot that offers a taste of traditional Swabian cuisine in a charming and historic setting.
After we weren't served very friendly (no greeting, rather stressed) I got lentils and spaetzle that weren't edible. The Swabian lentils were prepared with cumin and too much vinegar and the spaetzle was overcooked. The food was taken away without comment, but I was only asked later if I wanted something else. It's a shame for the restaurant, which used to have really friendly service staff and good food. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
