We liked our dinner here. The service was ok but the food was pretty good. The hotel is nice too as is the interior of the dining room. We got the following items, listed below with asterisks for what we’d get again: - House-Made Focaccia with Whipped Ricotta and Toasted Pistachios - Lamb Meatballs* - Crispy Squash Blossoms - Squid Ink Radiatori* - Tortellini

We had an excellent experience booking a private dining event for 10 guests. The private library/cocktail room was absolutely beautiful—elegant, intimate, and thoughtfully designed, which really elevated the entire evening. For larger groups, they require a pre-selected menu served family-style. Pricing started at $75 per person, with options to upgrade based on additional selections. Starters: • Black Truffle Arancini (Sottocenere, Parmesan) • Lamb Meatballs (Tomatoes, Taggiasca Olives, Pecorino) Both starters were excellent, but the lamb meatballs stood out—perfectly cooked with a rich, well-balanced sauce. Mains: • Cavatappi Duck Bolognese (Marjoram Pesto, Parmesan) • Lumache alla Vodka (Spicy Tomato, Nduja, Stracciatella, Basil) Also added the squid ink pasta in addition which was good, pasta was a bit salty but calamari was flaky and crispy, made perfect. Both dishes were spectacular. I’m usually not a duck person, but this bolognese absolutely lived up to the hype—slightly spicy and incredibly well-balanced. The lumache was a classic done right: bold, spicy, and mellowed beautifully by the cheese and tomato. Sides: • Braised Ceci Neri Beans (Pancetta, Tomato, Kale) • Butternut Squash (Pumpkin Seed Gremolata, Brown Butter) The sides were solid—good, but not the stars of the show. Desserts: • Tres Leches Tiramisu (espresso milks, ladyfinger, mascarpone) • Pistachio Pie (raspberry, toasted meringue) The tiramisu was enjoyable, but the pistachio pie didn’t quite meet expectations and felt a bit underwhelming. Drinks: Cocktails were well done overall, with the whiskey sour being a clear crowd favorite. Service & Experience: The waitstaff was attentive and professional throughout the night. However, there was one downside: a manager/lead staff member repeatedly pressured us to start on time and asked for ETAs for late guests due to weather. It felt unnecessary, especially since we had the room reserved for the entire evening. This detracted from an otherwise excellent experience—and based on other reviews, it doesn’t seem to be an isolated issue. Overall: Beautiful space, standout food (especially the mains), and a memorable group dining experience. With a bit more flexibility in guest management, this would be close to perfect. I love Hypsi. I’ve been there for brekkie 3 times now and it’s been great each time. I love that it’s a little tucked away, how it’s in a hotel, because it feels more relaxed, and yet still has great ambience. The service is great and so is the food. I want to go for lunch or dinner some time to see if it’s as good. But yes, I highly recommend. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
