I sought shelter here during a rainy night in spring a year ago. Unknowingly it was a really...really good Italian place. They somehow refined the ingredients of what could otherwise be simple Italian dishes, like the noodles and meat are cooked al dente and tenderly, respectively. Staff was welcoming, unfamiliar warmth since Tokyo can be standoffish. Chill vibe, small but classy space with counter seating for solo diners so it wasn't awkward. Service was great. So it goes to show I'm writing this as a reflection to say thanks, and also bookmark it as I can't wait to go back this Winter break. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Stumbled into this small Italian joint around one of the streets in Koenji. Didn't expect much so we were wildly surprised. Table charge got us crostini and what appeared to be homemade pickles drizzled with olive oil - really delicious. We got that il doge carbonara and the staff was nice enough to split the serving in two bowls (really generous portions for the pork belly too,!!) Another favorite was the liver pate.
