IL Forno, located in Drogheda, is an Italian establishment that offers delicious food at reasonable prices. The ambiance is great, with friendly and efficient staff. The interior design is beautiful, with a massive plane hanging from the ceiling and air balloons. The restaurant also has outdoor seating available for those who prefer to dine al fresco.
IL Forno's menu features a wide selection of dishes, including a full breakfast menu with the most expensive item being "the full Irish" at €10. For lunch and dinner, the menu includes tasty options such as chicken & chorizo ciabatta with pesto, spaghetti and meatballs, and gluten-free pizza. The restaurant also has a well-stocked bar with cocktails, soft drinks, and wines.
Although some reviewers have had issues with slow service or undercooked food, overall, IL Forno is a fine dining spot that offers amazing food and excellent service. So, if you're looking for a place to enjoy delicious Italian cuisine with friends or family, IL Forno is definitely worth a visit.
The staff were so rude. One of the waitresses didn't know what "sunny side up" meant and got really impatient with me when I asked for them. She also rolled her eyes when I asked for butter with my toast (it should be served with it anyway). I also waited half an hour for a full Irish that was mediocre at best. I don't recommend this place. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Our one and only visit to IL FORNO in Drogheda was nothing short of awful. Arriving during a quiet lunchtime, my husband and I were ushered to a table at the far end of the nearly empty restaurant and instructed to sit at a table for two! Setting the tone for what was to come. Opting for the Goat's Cheese Tarts, we awaited our order, only to be met with an excruciatingly long wait. Finally, our order arrived and we were presented with what can only be described as dry, tough "pizza bases" topped with cooked onions, goat's cheese, and rocket, and drizzle of balsamic vinegar. When we questioned the absence of a pastry base as one expects from a tart, the response was dismissive, with a curt "that's how we do it here". I'd also question the general hygiene of the place as my water glass was dirty and I had to ask for a clean one. To top it all we were charged 30 euros for the worse dining experience we have experienced in years. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
