Partner went here to buy coffees for a conference and was told quite aggressively that they don’t do takeaway cups, and that they were “doing God’s work” behind the counter and she should go somewhere else. So she did — and spent her $100+ on coffees at another café instead. What made the experience worse was that as she walked back to her car, she overheard the staff member laughing about the interaction with a coworker. You’re absolutely entitled to run your business however you like, and if you don’t want to offer takeaway cups, that’s your choice. But there’s no need to be rude, aggressive, or disrespectful to customers over it. You can care about the environment without talking down to people. We’ve told many people about the experience already and will continue to warn others to avoid the café based on how she was treated. Be better humans — not just “clean” ones.
