My friend was incredibly excited to visit this restaurant for her birthday, so I had high hopes for five-star food and service. Our server was decent but noticeably gave us less attention than the table’s server next to us, which was hard to ignore. We ordered quite a bit of food for two people, and overall I would rate the experience a 6.5 out of 10. I ordered the Smoked Chargrilled Chicken from the entrees, and unfortunately it was completely lacking in flavor and hard. When the manager came out and I expressed my disappointment, he responded by asking if I had cut into it, which I found a bit dismissive. How else would I have known it was dry? I am not sure I would return, but I will say the crab patties and scallion bread were genuinely delicious. Price per person: $100+ Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

Had such a great experience at Isla! The food was amazing, the ambiance was beautiful, and the whole experience felt sophisticated and welcoming from start to finish. A special shoutout to Nathan, our waiter, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and so warm and attentive throughout the night. He gave great recommendations, made us feel really taken care of, and his Spanish was amazing too which my family loved lol. Definitely one of our favorite dining experiences in DC and we can’t wait to come back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
