Tomohito is such an amazing manager and made our time at Island bar amazing. We love his advice on what to do, and his bar knowledge. We meet him on our first night in Kyoto by accident and came back on our last night by choice. Happy to have meet him, and had fun at Island Bar. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The manager is extremely rude. They stare at us all the time while we drink and talk. I speak fluent Japanese, yet the manager refuses to speak Japanese or to respond to my Japanese but only speaks non-comprehensible, broken English. We ordered four drinks in 30 minutes but were still asked to order even more or otherwise to pay and leave. They fail to community efficiently, expecting us to understand what they “imply.” Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We went in two hours before closing and told they were closed then others who were Japanese were served after us. Guess they don’t like westerners. It was pretty in there though. Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
